Hi guys,

do you know if it's possible to refinish the VZ-58 in good old blue (black). I really like the riffle but don't really like the gray look. I would drool all over a blue one though.

I know you can change the finish of a gun ... I saw 1911 get refinished all the time. Possible to do that on a VZ?

I am talking about a professional job, not a home paint job ...

I can't see why not. You'd just have to blast or sand off the paint. When these first arrived, one fellow on here did just that, and showed us his home blue job. I can't remember his name though. Regardless, it was very well done and looked extremely nice with his wood furniture.

Personally, I think the paint does just fine. Ever since getting this VZ58S I've been a huge fan. Paint does a helluva better job of rust protection than bluing. Perhaps you should consider armacoat?

Good old paint stripper would take care of the paint, even laquer thinner will remove it. I think it would be an easy job to get the paint off.

I am thinking of getting my 858 nickel plated
