VZ 58 jamming

Make sure your rounds are loaded in the mag fully back. Tap the mag a few times to seat them correctly.

Not sure how new the rifle is to you OP but on top of bfiles, MTB amongst others, I had issues until I did as Crewman6 says. Also, found that mix and matching mags between CSA and CZ was unreliable.

do you have someone around you that you could swap spring and bolt assembly with, just to rule out that the receiver and barrel are aligned properly?

The only time I've had this issue was from too much grease. Just a thin, thin coat is all you need. Then oil over top to make it nice and slippery. These guns don't have super heavy return springs so you need to make sure your receiver rails are slippery as f#%!. A grease / oil mix works really good in these rifles.

Just gave the rifle a thorough cleaning....heaps of grease scrubbed out!
One thing that I did notice is that there is a spot when slowly working the action where it holds up when closing.
The action still closes fine on its own, but I only noticed this when riding the action.
Is this of concern?

Try like Mike - these puppies don't need to be babied. Yard that charging handle back. FYI after reading this thread I just oiled the rails on mine and every thing is good..

If it's just a rough spot I don't think it's anything to worry about, you have some breaking in to do yet. Just go really light on the grease - no globs, and generous on the oil. You will feel your action operate much smoother and it will last. You can use just oil if you want but I recommend my method.
The idea isn't to baby the rifle is just creating the best optimal operating condition for the action with long lasting consistency. They'll work with no lube at all but I wouldn't do that.

It may sound completely stupid, but have you checked the magazine followers to make sure they are put in the right way. I had the same problem and it was caused by the mags. I took them apart to clean them and put the followers in backward. :HR:

I had a similar problem when using the actual factory mags. Both of them. But when running some CZ-858 mags I had no issues. Bizarre. I also noticed that the non-corrosive ammo that I have used isn't as hot as the Chinese and Czech corrosive which may have played a role too as the parts were tight fitting at first until worn in.
