well after some cleaning today on my .223 VZ 58 SA i cycled it for a function check and dry fired when i herd a tap on the wall across the room found a tip and checked my bolt and sure enough it shot the tip out, so not enjoying this so far, ive dumped a lot of coin with high hopes that just seem to not be working out.......not really what i expected at a 900.00 price tag. I really want to love this vz :(

I still hold out hope for a fix on this firing pin, but add in my issues with a warped mag well adapter, new magpul followers and possible bolt catch issues, im kinda running low on enthusiasm......

This is just my opinion but I belive that when they changed the dimentions to acomadate the 5.56 round they made the pin size to small thus breaks. the problem is why does it break I have made multiple pins for mine out of all different types of material from used drills punchs even drill rod. and with differient hardness levels and they all keep breaking eventually. If I keep breaking factory pins I may use a factory 7.62x39 pin and just open up the pin hole in the bolt face and try that, worst case I have to buy a new bolt from North Sylva. The crappy part is all the rounds down range to find out all these little bugs, I too really want this rifle to be reliable and am damm determined to make her run. Ps ths CSA adapter "sucks" plastic vs metal metal wins.

i feel the same way i really love the weapon and when its working its wicked fun but if this turns out to be a long lasting issue i will not be impressed at all!!!! the adapter is a cool idea and i really hope my new one works but of corse metal would be best

Got my new " redesigned " pin in today and installed no problem, I will run it in on Sunday and see how she runs. I also installed the BC tactical mag and bolt release that the folks there custom made for the CSA rifles, and it's butter smooth big thanks to them DEFINITLY the BEST customer support I have EVER had. Cheers Dirtdiver1

The 7.62x39 version of the CSA is flawless. The 5.56 version, well.....

When I started looking at these csa vz's i wanted it in the 7.62x39 but i was sold on the 10 round magazines for the .223, if the issues im having are taken care of ill be happy if not and this is more trouble than its worth ill want an exchange because i still love the design

Well fellas the new pin seems to have worked fine, HOWEVER now upon cleaning the bolt has a HUGE crack at the rear where the locking lugs sit and is ready to fly off. So NOT impressed I will get in touch with North Sylva and see about a warranty bolt, the rifle has apporx 1400 rounds through it not extreme for a " military action" . I will try to post pics this week and hopefully this gets rectified as CSA has never returned any comms about the firing pin issue and now this comes up lol I seem to have a real lemon.
