VZ-58 or CZ 858 rifle?? Help!

Thanks for all the input guys...I've just placed my order for the russian sks from Frontier. Looking forward to recieving that.

And Im leaning toward the vz 58 because the only place really I would be using it is at the range.

Now this might be a dumb question..but..can the tactical handguard sold at Wolverine for the cz858 be applied to the vz 58?

Hey Roy,

I just placed my order with Frontier as well...any ideas on how long it's going to take to ship? Sounded like it might be more than a month....sigh...want to go shoot 7.62x39mm:(

It sure can ,as long as I know the only difference between the two rifles is the barrel length!

Its a pain in the ass whatever it is compared to non restricted.

How is transporting a restriced a pain in the ass compared to a non-restricted?? When I go to the range I take both restricted and non with me and the only difference is that my restricted are locked in their cases with trigger locks on , I also have trigger locks on my non-retricted as well. They both go with me in the same truck and I always have my ATT , is there some kind of magical restricted firearm transportation thing I am missing here? Anyone?

I think the issue is to be force to join a club. And applying and renewing the LTATT. Some people like to buy a gun and then go straight to range. In a nutshell more bureaucracy.

Yeah I can understand that ! I was pretty miffed about it all too , I mean it would be nice to take my pistol out into the backwoods , but what can we do right! I found a really great club that is very affordable and not to far from me , and as for waiting for my guns , I have only had to ever wait about a day. My long term ATT is good for 5 years , but i will admit it is a bit of a pain having to apply for a short term ATT just to go pick up your new firearm . I guess for me , I don't really mind waiting a day , everytime I call in to apply for a permit the people are really polite and always get me my permit as fast as they can !
