VZ 58 over-gassing issues

I recently had a bolt break on my VZ and (without going into detail) the warranty services are very poor for this gun for some reason and will take ages to do. All I could find out that it might be and over-gassing issue.
I'd like to know how to diagnose this issue. I believe the solution is to open up the gas exhaust ports a little bit around the gas piston.

It's a 7.62. No not really because I have to pay for shipping out of my own pocket, they want confidential information not necessary for the repair, and it will take 6 weeks to do. That's one way to get out having to fix stuff for "free". Some warranty.

I hear you but I broke 2 bolts and cracked a carrier when mine was over gassed. I made the shop where I bought it send it back on there dime. Sadly it took to visits but since then I have put over 1000 rounds through it with no issue. The second time they shortened my gas piston and posibly adjusted the gas port size.

I personly would just send it in IMO.
 
I just sent mine in and had it back in a couple weeks, my piston was a little out of spec. Who cares if ya got to give them your PAL number, they are just doing their jobs to make sure you actually have one. They aint giving anything to our overlords, not sure what your worried about.
 
George @ North Sylva is fantastic to deal with. I had to send a .223 there with over gassing problems. All said and done from the time I shipped it there to it being back in my hands was under 3 weeks. I also had to send away another firearms and it was back in 10 days with the problem rectified.

As i am sure you can see that is from ALBERTA to ONTARIO, and under 3 weeks. Gun ran like an absolute top ever since. Don't waste your time, just send it there to get it done right. They fix it, tell you what they fixed, and ship it back lightning fast. They are just doing their due diligence!

Agreed!! Excellent service - George told me six to eight weeks and the vz was returned to me in less than three weeks - runs like a top!!!
That bolt broke because something is f**ked up so merely replacing the bolt without having the rest of the spec.s checked is courting possible disaster, IMO.
As for the postage yeah, I agree that it should be on CSA, but if you can afford ammo, you can afford the postage.
 
can people measure the diameter of their gas piston and gas port? my gas piston diameter is .470, apparently with the original .472 size it was over gassing.
 
Thanks everyone for the input. I have no problem waiting 3 or 6 weeks for repair. My biggest issue is that I have to pay for shipping out of my own pocket for their manufacturing defect.
