VZ-58 Wood Furniture alternative

Given the apparent shortage of affordable CZ-858 wood furniture, have any of you tried painting your resin/chipboard CZ858 furniture with a wood-type colour?

With the right shade of paint (maybe chinese-AK47 orange for me) I'm thinking it might look ok.

The top one is a stock VZ-58...

... and the bottom one is my artist's conception of what it would look like if you took the original VZ-58 fiberglass furniture and painted it orange.
