Vz52

Hi folks

I have a crack at a VZ52 in 7.62x39, and was hoping someone could give me a bit of info on them, like collectability, accuracy and reliability or anything else. If anyone that has or had one could give me thier impressions or 2 cents on the matter it would be appreciated, and some guide to value so I don't get fleeced.

If it's in 7.62x39 then you're looking at a 52/57

As with most other czech guns these things are great. Can't see a reason to not buy one at least.

I bought one quite a few years ago new in Vancouver...back then it was around 240.00 I have seen them abused for quite a bit more.....It is very well made and functions flawlessly.....apparent tight tolerances, the only detraction is there seemingly cheap wood stocks.....other than that no real complaints !

Should be a date code on the side of the receiver.

52-56 would be a VZ52 in 7.62 x 45mm (good luck finding ammo to fire) Worth about $100 because of the calibre

57 would be a VZ52/57 in 7.62 x 39mm
Worth about $250-300 realisticaly I think. Fun to shoot. Look like they're well built.

Also most of the 52/57's I've seen over the years were pretty much like new condition. Probably un-issued. They were obsolete when they were made. Got replaced by the VZ58.
