Vz58 5.56 mags in a 7.62 rifle?

Do 5.56 mags normally fit in a 7.62 rifle?

Just asking because I ordered a 5.56 rifle online, the box is marked 5.56, it came with the plastic 5.56 mags which fit in the gun, but the receiver is marked 7.62x39. I have no way to measure the bore, and I can't actually go shoot it right now to see if it would even fire.

A 556 bullet would be preverbal hotdog in a hallway if the barrel is 762. You could measure it with a ruler the difference is so big. Just measure at the crown.

you can measure the barrel channel diameter at the muzzle by inserting the 5.56 or 7.62 round.

What number is under the rear sight? Mine says Sa vz58 and it is 223 rem

Was gonna say, the caliber marked on the receiver is the caliber of the gun. Looks like they sent you the wrong gun.

Drop a dummy 5.56 round in the chamber. 556 will clear and go past the chamber into the leade if the chamber is 7.62

If you have a cleaning rod jag that is .243 up to .308 and it fits in the bore you do not have a .223

clearly, they sent you the wrong gun . they didnt double check the caliber before sending it to you.

btw, the 5.56 mag will fit the 7.62 rifle but the 7.62 mag will not fit the 5.56 rifle.

send the rifle back COD.
