Okay so after spending some time on the search engine i'd like some info here on which of the 11" barrel VZ-58 designs is best to go with. I'm looking for an 11" VZ-58 type rifle. I want one in 7.62x39mm. I used to have a NR CZ 858 and it was a nice rifle.

So my question is am I correct in stating that there are 2 11" VZ 58s now, one made by CSA and another by FSN (not counting chopped down older ones)? Which of the two is better and why?
Thanks for your help guys

FSN shortys aren't currently available at retail and only a few of them were imported in the single batch so far.

I like my CSA. It's been 100% reliable over a couple thousand rounds so far.

I have never shot the FSN carbine, but I currently own a CSA 11.8 inch carbine in 7.62x39 and have had 0 issues. A great little gun for sure.

I also have a 7.62x39 CSA 11.8 inch carbine with only a few hundred rounds threw it. So far no issues and the fit & finish is very nice!

FSN's finish is lacking but there front sight's rock. Although the lack of muzzle devices stink. Although all aftermarket parts just drop in. The saftey position is either the standard single fire or safe. The direction of the full auto has been perminatly modified to never allow the reciever to accept this option.
The CSA's have a nice almost deep black looking finish and have the standard front sight post that will allow you to use any aftermarket muzzle deviece that you choose. All be it there has been some fitting issues for people tring to install certain mag and bolt release aftermarket parts. Also the saftey goes from the tradiotional safe postion to were the auto position is. You stil will only get to fire semi-auto but on the assualt rifle version this would be the full auto fire. But since these are sporting rifles it only fires semi auto and the reciever was made to never be able to change it into such an rifle.
Other than that they both are nice rig's but I still prefer the looks of the FSN model K above all other rifles.
