VZ58 barrel clamp light mount options? NEA railed clamp style.

I am taking this fall and winter to build my ideal VZ58 rifle.

I've slowly been gathering parts and I am now on the lookout for light mounting options.

I am not interested in a light that mounts to the handguard, my arms are too long so I'm looking for someway to mount on the barrel like the NEA railed barrel clamp. NEA parts seem to be extremely hard to find at the moment.

Does anyone have suggestions for other barrel clamp light mounts? Must be railed so I can add/remove the light when needed.

I have been watching the EE but NEA VZ58 parts are rare at the moment.

Thanks in advance all.

That longer rail might work but I am not sure it's long enough.

The barrel clamp idea is nice because it allows greater flexibility of how the light sits. You can basically rotate the clamp until the lights tailswitch is exactly where you want it.

The NEA had the best "lines" to it, just looks right but is rare at the moment. That UTG rail is a viable option, the 90 degree angles don't flow as nice but a curved portion could likely be made to replace just that half.

The NEA sits way higher on the barrel and will not have the light as close to the barrel as is possible with the others.

The NEA is indeed nice. And aluminum. I just lucked into one on the EE here a few weeks ago. One will come up for you, sooner or later. In the meantime, I'd get that cheapie UTG rail that shawn pointed you to. Shawn is right though, the NEA is much taller. It is designed for the rear portion to sit right on top of the front part of the gas block.

Wow! I think it's interesting how the piston head is completely exposed during cycling.

I'm pretty sure that's a AK part. I wouldn't be surprised if users had issues with the piston catching on the top of the gas block.

The NEA clamp rail is taller but it isn't an issue in practice. You can rotate it into a position where your thumb fits right behind your light's tailcap.

Hmmm...good point Stevo, never thought of that. Martin had posted that they ran 400 rds through it so I went ahead and ordered one.
Will post back once I have a chance to try it out.
