It was mentioned in the other thread that Marstar had instructions for fitting the cz858 bolt carrier to the vz58 barreled action, is this true? And more info I can get would be great.

Also you guys shipped it out to me pretty quick. I'm impressed, thanks!

Good day; We never mentioned instructions for fitting anything to do with the CZ 858....
Suggest you consult with other owners on CGN.

I thought it sounded funny.
Oh well, maybe it'll be easy to figure out when I got everything together.

Here is what I have found so far .
All parts from a cz858 kit will fit with the exception of the bolt carrier & trigger assembly . Some machining & fabricating are required .

About the bolt carrier cgner 'Mark K' says:
"...file the back of the carrier to allow it to pass over the block in the receiver. It should be 4mm wide and about 2.5mm deep..."

How much is involved with the trigger assembly?

Hmmm I got the parts kit today, and apparently I know nothing about these trigger assemblies. If anyone wants to help they can pm me.

If I see you at the range with it, I'm going to be making double time in the opposite direction. :D
Hopefully you can get it done up, I am kicking myself for not jumping on these when they were available.

You kidding, duct tape wrapped around and glue dripping out of the action is a sign of fine workmanship :D

Hmmmm as always if I stare at it for incredible amounts of time, I start to understand.

I think this is screwing up my trigger(the only part, beside the bolt carrier, which won't just 'drop in')

The rectangle on the right side of the trigger, that is kind of separated from the rest of the trigger, is supposed to(i guess) fit right in where that slope is under that extended piece of metal.
But since it's sloped, and not a 90° cut, it's blocking the trigger from fitting nicely. And so I can't get the trigger pin in, which makes me unable to get the sear pin in. Otherwise everything else seems to fit snugly.

Yes that is stopping the trigger assembly . The trigger assembly in the cz858 parts kit from Wolverine will not even fit in a cz858 . Those parts kits are military surplus parts.
The cz858 & the Marstar vz58 are modified differently & you will have to modify the parts in the kit to fit . If you modify the receiver you run into legal issues

Think I can just lop off the little rectangle on the trigger then? Or do I need to be patient and shape it.

The trigger in the parts kit has 2 arms that work on the safety that operate the sear . the one on the left is for S/A the one on the right is for F/A that is why the block is in the receiver to prevent the F/A you will need to remove the right one & grind down that side of the trigger to fit . also the kit obviously comes with only the S/A sear so you need to make a spacer for the sear pin to keep the S/A sear from floating on the pin . Look in the milsurp section there is a sticky on VZ 58 questions & there are some good pic's of a CZ 858 trigger assembly & receiver & you can see the difference in the receivers

nevermind, Everything is working but the rifle isn't firing 100% of the time.
I think the trigger needs more travel(?) so that the sear is engaged enough to release the striker(?)
Dry firing seems to be helping.
