VZ58/CZ858 reassembly issue?

I haven't seen the original thread but heard that somebody read that on another forum.

The bolt and carrier can't leave the gun unless they smash through the rear of the receiver.

I just read on another forum that it's possible to reassemble a VZ58/CZ858 without the bolt locking toggle, so that when fired the bolt will exit the back of the gun at speed with dire consequences.

Anybody ever hear of this?

Its possible and the bolt may or may not seat against the chamber. So yes could be unpleasant since the bolt will be unlock but someone would have to be very careless to reassemble the rifle without the bolt lock. I can hear alls the cz/vz detractors saying how bad is the design........

Don't worry, they're too occupied in the XCR Opinions thread right now to pay attention. :D

I was wondering about this as well, however, I think due to the slotted bolt and needing to lift the rear receiver up and at an angle, and then sliding the bolt ALL the way to the back, without the spring will prevent the bolt from flying out at high speeds.....
I sure wouldn't want to try it first hand.

I also saw a video of a guy that failed to replace the bolt locking on his rob arms xcr. the upper receiver popped up when he fired, but everything remained in place. and then he tried it again three more times....

its only an issue with the stupid. the bolt carrier assembly strikes the rear of the reciever every time the rifle fires, thats what its designed for. Id be willing to bet the case would stick in the chamber, seperate at the rear, vent all the pressure out the action and slam the bolt carrier assembly into the reciever a little harder than usual

This clearly calls for testing with somebody else's rifle.

:D
