VZ58 Drum Magazines

Hi John, I was wondering what the feasibility of importing any drum mags for the VZ58/CZ858 would be. I see the odd one here and there in pics posted on the forum, but didnt find anyone carrying them. It looked like the AK drum mags sold quickly in the Big Magazine Sale, I'm sure the VZ drums would do the same.

On a side note, any more new manufacture AK Drums on the way?

Thanks!

Ryan

Before John chimes in I have to warn you that the drum mag's that you are reffering to are infact RPK or AK drum mags modded out to work in the VZ/CZ platform.

Are there not VZ/CZ specific drum mags that can be ordered from overseas?

My limited knowledge ont he subject was always that you can order them, and they are VZ/CZ specific, but they are very expensive as you'd have to get the exporter to pin them etc...

cz/vz drum mag!!!!

I don't give a rats a$$ if they are for cz/vz or modded ak mags that fit in a cz. I will buy 2 of them as long as you can get them in John.

I was under the impression they were factory VZ specific???

If you are reffering to the pic's on this site or on Infratek's website they were a RPK drum modded out to work in the VZ 58 platform baught from a member on this board that goes by the name of shoot!!!. I should know because the pic's are of my rifle & mag. Also the other issue's were that you could only have 3 or 9 rounds due to the fact of were you can place the rivet. Also it will not hold the bolt open on the last round as the RPK does not have that feature built into the mag.

On a side note this mag costed me $300 when it was all said and done. That's right a $100 dollar's a round just to piss off Wendy and her friends.
Sorry for hijacking your thread but I thought that this infromation would assit you on your purchase.

Satain, seeing that picture I'm sure it was a different rifle. I was pretty sure the drum was described as a factory VZ drum, otherwise I know I would have probably assumed it was a modded AK mag because up until then I had no clue VZ drum mags were (might be) out there. This is going back a bit and is stretching my memory. I'm sure it was in the vz/cz pic thread that is now almost 70 pages ....I will try to find it.

3 or 9 rounds? Are you referring the easy load ferris wheel type of drum?

EDIT: Looking at your pic again, it looks like the ferris wheel drum.

AFAIK there are no factory VZ drums. Just modified RPK drums of different varieties, the most commonly used being the 75 round Russian design.

I can't for the life of me find that post again. I tried as many things I could think of in the search field. As well as went throug all 67 pages in the tacticool VZ thread.

I translated this site but dont understand if the description is of a modified RPK drum for sure, but it sounds like it. If they are modified RPK drums I could see how these may be mistaken for factory VZ mags, including by me.

Satain and Big_Red, I'm thinking you're right. It's a little disappointing. I guess I'd have to mod a RPK drum, probably a route I wont go.

Thanks!

Weve done a lot of business in the Czech Rep as well as Slovakia.... I have ner hear mention of a VZ-58 drum.... Does not mean they don't exist....

Yes we have another shipment of drums on the way in....
