Hey Guys,

I was cycling my new csa VZ58 and she dry fired correctly a couple of days ago, however when i cocked the bolt tonight there was no click for the dry fire? Is this normal or is something already wrong with my new CSA VZ58....

Are you sure you just did not hear the click ? Try to get into the habit of sticking the end of the barrel in your ear before pulling the trigger.

There are other threads on this. Its the gremlin coming out. Sounds like the hammer did not release. Sometimes with the trigger group the trigger doesnt pull the sear to release the hammer. If you can confirm that the hammer is still cocked, take the pistol grip off and push that square nut in and take something hook shaped and pull down on the spring inside that goes to the sear, this will release the hammer usually. Or try pulling on the sear itself where it catches the hammer. Hope this helps you.

I will check it out, I am hoping its not the gremlin as I haven't even fired the rifle yet....

Not the gremlin at all. It is a CSA, thus it comes tabbed from the factory.

The vz58 family of rifles do not have a hammer.

Step 1. Pull the dust cover off. Is it stuck? Then striker is cocked and not releasing. If not, see step 2.
Step 2. With dust cover removed, cycle action back and forth into battery. Striker should be set on sear. Remove safety and pull trigger while pushing forward on striker. If it doesn't drop then have a look inside for any trigger group parts out of place or broken.
Lastly, if you cycle the action slowly with the safety off the sear will catch the striker without drawing it out of the bcg. The action hangs up halfway closed. If you force it closed it will not catch the striker, the striker will comes forward with the bcg. This will give the same result you are seeing. Give it a good inspection to see if any of these problems are occurring and we can get it straightened out.

Well anyone that has one knows what i mean. I call it the hammer. I dont get all specific about every part. And does not matter if it is a csa or a cz they all have the same trigger and sear.

Not everyone does know what you mean. There is a difference between a hammer and a striker, so it is bad form to incorrectly label a component.
