Has anyone tried this out with any success?
Which scopes did you use?

I'm interested in running it on my VZ58 but can't seem to find a good source of short powered optics.

My fave optic on it is a Trijicon 3x or Trijicon RMR.
Anything that doesn't extend past the ejection port will work really.

Plus the dustcover rail mounts Corwin Arms sells are fantastic!!!!!

I'm running a Burris AR332, 3X magnification (fixed) however I'm using the raised rail that is fixed to the side of the rifle. Works great minus the silly chin-weld haha! Looking at it, it would be in about the same spot in respect to how far forward it would mount, so I don't see you running into any issues with that one. It'd definitly help with the cheek weld issue too. There's a picture for reference below. The only catch with it is that you can't use the supplied sun-shade that comes with the Burris, it extends over the ejection port.
