Well, I went to the range today and shout about 17 rds through my vz58 before a misfire. Well, I thought was a misfire. Removed the bullet and tried again and no "click".

So...I have encountered the 'Gremlin'. Here's my problem. I'm at home and I can't get the return mechanism (back end with two springs) out. I figure because there is too much tension, but I cant pull trigger to relieve it. Is there a way to get her out without prying her out? I've got a rifle with a 'gremlin' and corrosive crap in her and I can't even get her apart to clean her.

I had an identical problem, and one of the CGN experts helped me out.

IIRC you can "pull the trigger" by removing the grip, push the threaded square nut out of the way, then pushing a hooked implement through the hole and pulling down the leaf spring.

You may now disassemble your rifle.

Now here is the really cool thing...it's not the gremlin. My problem was solved by cleaning the hell out of the thing with degreaser then lightly lubing.

Edited to ad link to thread where gurus Curton and Palinak solved this same problem for me.

My man...you are a genius! Worked nice and easy. Funny thing is I thought I cleaned her up well every time. Oh well..I'll degrease her some more.

Thanks!
