VZ58 Magazines

Hello all,

I recently had a mishap on a hunting trip. And lost the magazine for my VZ52/57 ... it was the only one I had.

On a stateside forum, I was told that a clip from a VZ58 would work, but not without some problems like jamming.

Does anyone have any experience with these mags, and can they be modified to use on the 52/57?

I believe the 52/57 mags are very different. The mags for the vz58, 858 etc are curved 30/5 rounders...

Alright ... my mistake ... it would be a VZ-52 magazine ... I had to go recheck my post on the Czech Weapons Forum.

Does anyone have any experience with these mags, and can they be modified to use on the 52/57?

they can just be inserted and they work, usually just fine, but can have reliability issues due to their oversized length. A block might help with that.

52 mags

I have 52/57 with two 52 mags - they snap in place OK. And 7.62x39 fits OK as well. Did not fire it yet - but on gunboards noticed a comment that there might be a misfeed on occasion.
