I have a vz58 5.56 Sporter, manufactured in 2015.
During my first range session with it, I noticed some inconsistencies with the distance the spent casings were ejecting, and now I’m wondering if I may have an overgassing problem or is this normal for this firearm:
Shot #.... Orientation (using 12 hour clock…. Distance in Feet ….Ammo
1………….. 1:00………………………………………………. 5……………………….. MFS 55 gr.
2………….. 3:00……………………………………………….15………………………..“
3……………1:00………………………………………………. 15……………………… Winchester 55 gr. FMJ
4………….. 1:00………………………………………………. 10……………………… .“
5………….. 2:30………………………………………………. 10………………………..”
6……………2:00………………………………………………. 13……………………….. “
7………… 12:30……………………………………………….. 8………………………… “
8………….. 1:00……………………………………………….. 8………………………… “
9………….. 1:30……………………………………………….12………………………….“
There were no extractor marks on the casings, but the ejected Winchester casings were dented about the size of a matchhead about 3/8 inch below the neck.
I’ll appreciate any input or suggestions on this - thanks in advance.
