How do you tell what year your VZ58 was manufactured and how long is the warranty period?

Right hand side of the rear sight block there should be a two digit proof stamp. 12, 13, 14, etc...

Go the the CSA website and put the serial # in the warranty search, It will tell you the warranty info. If its new 5 years.

I just recently purchased a VZ58 and the retailer told me it only had a one year warranty through NS, though the CSA website says my rifle has 5 years?

The CSA VZ58 comes standard with 5 years warranty, the website even says so.

1 year through retailer is possibly what they mean.
