Hi there. I am thinking the same things. The gun was good enough to stay in production when the Soviets and the Warsaw Pact Nations were pumping out AK's, personally I think there is a lot to consider very positive about the Vz 58. All milled construction, proven reliable action and ever popular chamberings in .223 Rem and the ubiquitous M43 7.62 X 39. Here in Canada it is a wonder it is not restricted or a prohibited weapon. Silly laws really when the Ak is outlawed and the Mini 14 is Non-Restricted. Regards.
