Id also get a PG3

The cost of ammo is the biggest incentive for me

A hand guard that is basically the price of the rifle? Yeah that makes alot of sense.

If you want a rail epoxy/screw one to the lower handguard. take the 300 dollars you saved and buy a crate of ammo

Heres My Review....

I got the VZ58.net RAS System, PG3 Pistol Grip, AR15 Adapter and Muzzle Brake.

I find the PG3 pistol grip loosen up alot and twist in my hand no matter how tight I screw in the bolt. I would not mind getting the CAA style grip when they get it.

RAS system is great, But heres some problems I found out.. The top rail is higher then the rear sight, So to use my Iron sights, I had to make a new 100m zero, by placing my rear sight at 600m to clear the RAS system and cranking up my front sight post.

Also I mounted a Aimpoint clone onto the RAS system that only last one range trip before it failed on me, It could been because of the piston recoil or the heat from rapid firing.

The RAS system does need metal heat shields to vent the heat much better. Which I'm thinking of making. RAS does not use the same mounting spots as the regular hand guards and held together by 4 bolts and a modified bolt in the rear to prevent it from sliding.

i have the quad rail also.i have had to modify the mounting bolts though as i went a bit to tight on it and pulled the inserts out.there is a gap between the top and bottom pieces and if you over tighten them they will pull out.so i have now drilled the holes through both pieces and put the inserts on the bottom.now if i over tighten them they will just strip out.yes its cost a bit but.i have seen some crazy priced pieces on some black rifles also?its all what you want right.i have my eo mounted on it.the only prob i found was from prone shooting the eo sits high up and the stock has to be put in a weird spot on my shoulder.the ar stock adapter will fix this i do believe.

i had trouble with the small odd ball threads on the handguard. i just went to canadiantire and bought four screws in a larger thread. retapped the hole to fit. now as a bonus o don't need that POS slot screw driver, i switched to an allen wrench

My fix for this was machining a slot down the center of one of the replacement aluminum rails.
