Picked this gun up today (you really don,t wanna know what i paid) Dual triggers, and was told one bore is full choke and the other? Don,t remember. I did also get the original wooden cleaning rod with it. Full damascus barrels. Any idea what its worth and anyone know what the newest version of guns blue book is and where to get it? thanks.

any idea whether it's the pigeon club gun or the premier quality? the 12 th edition of the gun digest book of gun values, outdated by a few years, shows the pigeon at very good $2850.00,excellent $3500.00 , perfect $4500.00. the premier quality is very good $1750.00 , excellent $2000.00 and perfect $2800.00. the pigeon was introduced in 1879 and discontinued in 1924. the premier ran from 1873 to 1921.

Very nice! My copy (13th Edition from 2006?) reflects the same price for the models mentioned earlier. Appears somebody messed around with the screws.

it's a nice gun alright but it seems hard to find one of this vintage,or even a lot newer, where someone hasn't messed around with the screws!!

True, more so in the case of an individual who did not use the appropriate screwdrivers or simply did not care enough to maintain that kind of finesse :)

If memory serves, Accuracy Plus @ Peterborough had one for a while listed as in Mint condition in fitted case (no longer visible on their site) - just never got around to taking a trip to look at that.
 
Looks like a really fine old gun. The gun could use a little gentle TLC, and the screws could be improved.
Ahsan Ahmed - the cased double at Accuracy Plus was very fine indeed. It was in beautiful condition. Was not there last week, and is no longer on their website, so I assume it is gone.

Heres some more pics to look at. I didn,t clean the barrels but they look pretty good. Only very slight pitting in a few spots. I don,t know if the stock was cracked and was repaired but if it was the crack didn,t go thru to the other side.

Sorry for hijacking the original thread - hope that wasn't a hammerless sxs??......it was there for a few months and I never even went :bangHead:

Yup. Crisp. Exceptional gun. They had 3 Scotts - a heavy ml gun, a heavy bl hammer gun, and the cased hammerless. It was the best of the three as far as condition is concerned, but all were respectable.

Shelby78 - You have a really nice gun there. Its been used but not abused. It would respond to a gentle cleaning, the operative word being gentle.
