W452AA powder for 38 special

Annyone have data on this powder "W452AA" in the 38 special?
i found a bit of info online but not much.
some people say it can be used for pistol and some say it should only be used in shotgun shells.
my newer manuals dont show any data using this powder.
any help would be greatly apprecited.

not used in +p loads
not used in 357
yes it was used in lots of shot gun target/trap loads

and the usual use at your own risk /work up loads etc etc

Win 452AA is a discontinued powder, more than 10 years ago if I recall. It was a popular powder among many pistol reloaders for target loads, such as .38 Special with wadcutters. I had several good loads using 452 AA and I was sorry when I couldn't find it any more.

I have used 452AA in my 357 with 158SWC. IIRC, I used 3.8 grains in the 357. Very accurate and easy to handle.
When my 452AA ran out, I started on the 473AA and the 125 gr Jacketed bullet.
At 8 grains, it is very accurate, and the cleanest powder I have ever loaded in my 357 Magnum.

wow 2.9 max??
i found some online data that suggests this would be a starting load and max 4.0?
just goes to show how much conflicting data there is out there.
maybe i should just pick up a can of unique or W231 instead.
one thing i do find confusing is how come when wadcutters are used i often dont see a reduction in powder on the charts but there is a considerable difference in the overall length due to the depth of seating.doesnt this cause an increase in pressure?
