Wad cutters in 9mm?

Thanks
That is what I am looking for - a nicely punched hole instead of a rip

same question for 40S&W - does anyone make a WC or SWC that works ok?

I have tried full wadcutters in 9mm (CZ 75, SPO1) with no success.
Limited case capacity, and feed ramp angles being the two biggest problems.
SWC designs will work with different amounts of tuning with different guns.

The only semi auto I know of that feeds any type of WC is the S&W 52 in .38 SPL. I believe it was specifically built to do so.

Otherwise, you might have to widen and shallow the feed ramp and throat the barrel more than usual to reliably feed 9mm and .40 WCs. The feed angle of most semis isn’t conducive to the sharp edges of a WC round. The cost may be prohibitive or you may need two barrels. Really don’t know.

There is no commercial WC ammo for either caliber. The closest is the truncated cone rounds but these leave the same ragged holes as FMJs.

DRG in Guelph makes and sells SWC 180gr 40 cal bullets. I use his 135 g LRNs in 9mm, and his 130 FRNs for my 357SIG.

In 38Spl he has 148 WC and 158SWC.

Bullets are around $35/500
