Hey guys,

I've been trying to find a good source for Wader Boots here in Canada, but can't find a good place online.

I need rubber soles, NOT felt bottoms.

I found a pair of Hodgsons (sp?) down in the states last week, but they wouldn't fit in my luggage! $40... what can you expect to spend here?

Nothing fancy, just cheap wader boots with a rubber sole. My old runners don't work for this purpose anymore, and it's a pain hauling waders down to the river when you're not wearing them (need more grip, and runners don't provide that!)

Thanks!

I'm not sure what you mean by "wader boots."
Are you refering to actual chest waders? Shorter hip waders? Or just tall rubber boots?

Sorry, to clarify...

I own 5mm Neoprene waders that have stocking feet (ie: no integrated rubber boot).

I need the wader SHOE (better term?) - you know, the shoes that are only one layer of canvas/nylon/whatever, non-insulated,... just the shoe.

I just use a cheap pair of hiking boots. I think I paid $40 5 years ago. They still work just fine. Anything will work though. I've used running shoes, Teva sandels....

I got a pair of felt bottom Brownings there a few years ago, and a pair of flippers that fit over them. You should be able to find something that fits the bill.

I thought about that, as I'm using runners now, but I really like the idea of a shoe without foam of any kind. They tend to soak up a lot of really ####ty smells from the place I go hunting.

I was in a hurry to get fishing a few years back and just bought a cheap pair of velcro flap ankle high runners a few sizes too big from Wally World for like 25 bucks. They work fine enough that I haven't bothered with proper pair of wader boots yet. Don't recall seeing any proper wader boots that don't come with felt soles...

Well, I found some on the Russell Sports catalogue, but the cheapest pair is $80! The ones I found in the US were $40... :(

They have some with felt soles, and some with rubber treaded soles. Since I'm using them for hunting, not fly fishing, I think the grip of the rubber will suit me better for the hike in/out of the hunting spot.
