Waders - Light Weight Options

Looking for some insight from this crew on lighter weight wader options for duck hunting in the early season and not cooking in a pair of heavy neoprene waders. Presently I have the Cabelas Supermag 1600's which are great when its freezing cold and blowing snow out.

I'm looking at the Drake Hybrid model http://www.drakewaterfowl.com/product/mst-hybrid-wader but haven't seen a pair in person. Planning a road trip to Bass Pro to see if they have them on hand and get a look in person.

Looking for something with a looser fit as well for those hotter days in the swamp/marsh.

Any other options out there you guys recommend?

Breathable waders are awesome... cabelas has a decent pair with the dryplus... i wore them once and sent them back after noticing an area around the boot that might cause isseus down the line... i currently have a pair of these and tbey are awesome you can layer up until just before ice as well

I second the breathables. Still keep your feet warm and if you layer up underneath you're fine even in icy waters

Get yourself a set of Simms and don't look back, you're looking for breathable fishing waders.

I have Simms Waders and they are fantastic. I don't believe any other waders compare,

I have goretex simms that are going on 13 years old. They get used once or twice a week for most of the year.

Thanks for the replies gents, I hadn't thought about Simms as we are in swamp and muskeg that borders onto a series of ponds/lakes we hunt. Will take a look at those and the breathables also mentioned.

Simms waders do cost a pretty penny, but are a great wader. Also check out llbean waterfowler pro waders. Great warranty. When my orvis breathable waterfowl waders kick the bucket, the llbean is what I will go for. I use my Simms for fishing, as the boots I have are felt sole, and suck when it gets icy, and snowy, the become lead weights on the feet. I should have bought regular sole. Now some places do not allow felt sole to be used due to invasive species.
