Wait time after buying rest. gun

Hi;

I'm buying a S&W M&P9 from a Lanz shooting Supply (local gun store). What is the wait time after you buy it before you caring it home?

Is there some sort of "approval" that has to happen?

Does someone visit your house to see if you have the proper storage for it?

You have to wait for your short term transport to take the gun from the store to home (could be same day). Apply for your long term ATT aswell (so you can take it to the range).

As for a check up on storage, anything is possible........ especially in your Province.

make sure you have a valid gun club membership, or have applied to be a collector. Without one of those, you can't "Confirm Purpose". When you send/fax in your valid membership, get your LT ATT to go to and from the range.

I have 4 hand guns and I've never had to produce any proof of range membership. My first hand gun I told them that I was still looking for a club to join, and the other 3 I just gave them the name of my gun club.

In Ontario your gun club must apply on your behalf to get you a Long Term ATT, and the Long Term ATT is mailed back to your club. This COULD be as little as 3 days. That was how long the Ontario CFO was taking when I requested mine, but that was just before the Ontario provincial ellection. YMMV.

Maybe in other provinces but not in Ontario . I already confirmed this with CFO

As far as I know only the subjects of kebeckistan are required to do that and wait a few months and a few calls to your references and all other avenues of annoyances to find any reason to deny you your property will they approve anything!!!!!

I forgot Ontario is a bit different, AB and NT on your first restricted purchase and when you renew your licence you have to confirm purpose.
