Hey CGN'ers, it's been a long while since I've been here, but since I've found myself in a nice spot in life at the moment, so I've sent in for my RPAL and am anxiously awaiting for it to come back. I've seen the "Shorten PAL Approval Times" thread and plan on following it.

I've also decided on a M&P40 already, yes i know 9MM is cheaper but wanted something with more bang (not that it's much) that I can afford to shoot before I pick up on a S&W500. Magnum Guns here in Lloydminster has already set a range kit aside for me. Gerry there was really helpful and let me handle a few handguns even without my RPAL, however I've heard they've denied this privilege to other people looking at firearms. I originally went in looking for a P226 but the S&W with the large palm swell fit my hand and felt really nice.

Gonna be spending my time lurking and picking up on more info for future purchases, good to be back :D

I'm waiting too kolik, but I am still really on the fence for what handgun I will go for. Not being able to handle any of them (due to no RPAL) hasn't helped the decision any.

I just sent out for mine as well, I cant wait! I was also thinking a sig 226 and actually was lucky enough that our safety course instructor had one in the course for us to handle and it felt great to me so now I have one reserved :D

That is truly unfortunate, i know a lot of the gun shops I've been to have that in bright bold lettering all around their display's. I was just lucky to find a store with a salesman that would let me handle the firearms without my PAL. I held a CZ75, Glock20, the M&P, a Remington 1911 R1 and a P226. I really liked how the M&P fit my hand, and also took into account all the extra's that was coming with it.

The P226 was really nice, but all the LGS had were used P226's in 9MM, and as stated i wanted something with a bit more punch than 9MM.
