Waiting for my new AR, keep hitting the refresh button on the CanadaPost website.
only a week left till it gets here, haha!

is there really anything worse then waiting for a new gun to show up!?!?!?!?!

so, while im here thought id ask a couple quick questions.
this is my first AR that didnt come as a complete package.

this one im putting together from a couple pieces, first time for me doing this.
upper from SFRC, stripper lower from CanAm.

ill need to pick up a lower parts kit.
was wondering if id do better to pick it up piece by piece or just pick up a lower parts kit?

i was concerned that a lower parts kit would be lower quality but then when i started to think about it id assume that most parts for AR are mass produced and will need hand fitting to some degree like a 1911, no?

i have a full trigger kit from when i pulled one out of one of my other AR's to put in a triggertech pack so again would it be worth buying an entire lower parts kit if i dont need the trigger parts?

is there a available lower parts kit that i SHOULD be looking for that is better then others?

im wanting to make this AR a little nicer than my other older ones, i dont want Norinco quality if you guys know what i mean.

anyways, thought? opinions? concerns?

oh, gun is a NEA 7.5 upper and i also picked up a NEA CCS kit so all ill need is a bolt for the top end.
bottom i lucked out and found a NEA lower of the same color its just stripped.
so thats where im at.
building a short ass AR for fun!

anyone have thoughts on 'Gunslinger' ambi charging handle?
i want a ambi one, my dad runs one on is Rock River Arms Varmint and likes it so i thought id pick one of those up.
worth the money?
better ambi charging handles from anywhere else?

I'd recommend getting what's typically known as a "builders" lower parts kit. Essentially, it's an LPK without the crappy trigger and A2 grip. They're cheaper, and you don't end up with parts you'll likely replace anyways. They're all the same in terms of "brand" but I'd usually recommend buying one from a known manufacturer, just simply to ensure the parts are within spec. AR's are for the most part, plug and play. No handfitting required.
The ones I specifically recommend are the ALG kits from Arms east.
I doubt most places around here even sell the individual parts, and it's likely cost you more.

Won't comment on 7.5" barrels or NEA parts.

As for ambi charging handles, the only two I'd recommend are the radian Arms ones, or the geissele models.
