Waking up a press

Those came from a fellow CGN'er's EE ad. I'm buying lead for now, but will get into casting soon. For purposes of tinkering, I'd kinda like to know what works before acquiring a mold. These came sized, lubed and gas-checked. The one shown was one of quite a few extra flat-points (thrown in by the generous vendor!) for use in .32Win spcl, so I'll have to save some for grandad's gun.

Subsequent rounds used a bit less powder, and were seated a bit deeper (serial #00000002 through 6).

I am some keen to get pressing m'own! After decades of reading, and daydreaming I've finally gone ahead, and gathered equipment. Made a trade for a press, but it's not here yet. A local buddy tells me he has a press not in use, and I could use it. Dropped this off a couple days ago...

Touch of the red stuff. Ram only travels (with force) a little -you can see the ram is less rusty near the top-. I'm keen, and eager to go.

Bit of this:

Now the Ram is a bit better looking too:

Finally with base painted( what you see on the linkage and clips is fluid film, not rusty texture):

So keen to get going was I. At minimum wage I could have bought almost 2 of these presses for the polishing time. If I don't get my first post in the "what have you reloaded" thread this weekend I may explode...

Amazing work!!!
