walkie talkie help

I never had to program mine. Just look up the radio channel frequency online to match with the channels your buddies are using. Just dont let them change your language to mandarin (i had to find a mandarin reading friend that could fix it).

Here is a link to the chart. Just mstch the code to the channel desired.

This will be my 3rd year running these radios. I really like mine.

Using the program and a cable is far easier than manually programming. There is normally a couple of websites or programs useful for putting local repeaters in such as regional emergency services or even the weather channel. Depends on how in depth you want to go. Please bear in mind that you likely need your amateur radio license to use the baofeng legally.

not sure what radios they sell at cabelas. they are better than the motorola they sell because they work over a way further distance.

That's because they are 4W output (if you program them on FRS/GMRS and some other frequencies not legal without a ham license). The Baofeng units are not license-exempt in Canada.....

The drivers can be a pain to set up - if you go to baofeng, and get the driver it will work. Just need to roll back windows auto driver. The driver file is Win_Driver_Prolific_3_2_0_0
