hey guys

took my beloved shotgun out for a skeet shooting session, only to find that i somehow put a little nick (2mm) in the walnut butt stock. sigh. any ideas how to cover it up / fix this ? ie) additional finsih?

thanks

can you post a pic?? is it a scratch, dent or chip? scratches and small chips can just be buffed out and touched up. Small scratches sometimes just touched up

i dont have a camera right now... i would describe it as a scratch...minor indent. sufficiently annoying none the less. anyways what can i use to touch it up?

is the finish on the stock oil or one of those nice polyurethanes? A dab of Tru-oil may work to blend in the blemish. if it is polyurethane and there is a scratch and white marring around it then carefully #0000 steel wool and polish the blemish out and apply the new finish or stock sealer to the area. or send it to someone with the tools, utilities and no how to do it for you?
