Has anyone picked up one of those walnut stock SKS'? If so what are your thoughts?

2nd question: What are the origins of the walnut SKS? Who is making these stocks?

Thank you for your time and assistance.

They seem ok but I haven’t put mine through hard use. They may require as much fitting as any other aftermarket stock to fit your particular rifle. Don’t force anything during the fitting because they crack easy.

I have no idea who makes them. Personally I would go with a factory laminate or a timbersmith instead if I had to start over.

I have one. Haven't shot the sks with it yet. I've never seen a manufacturer name. Seems they drift in from the ether.

I had to do some sanding at the back by the dust cover and had to glue a small block of wood at the front of the internal mag to make the fitment work.

We've been wondering about these for many years. Not sure we've ever gotten the story. I wonder if these ones being sold are actually take-offs. I'm pretty sure North Sylva imported a bunch of rifles fitted with them about 5 years back and I don't think they sold that well. Probably a Minelli stock.

Damn, kinda puts me off buying one. They look nice tho.

Yeah they're a bit of a mystery. They seem tonbe everywhere but not a whole lot of info about them. Of probably be better served getting a tactical stock for it anyhow. Just like how they looked but I've heard from a few sources now they are peone to cracking.
