Walther KKM .22 - Manufacturing Date ?

Fellow Walther owners-- can anyone help me pinpoint the manufacturing date on my Walther KKM rifle? The serial number is 016396.

On the right hand side of the barrel were the chamber is should be a manufacturer's hallmark and it will have 2 digits, these are the last two digits of the year made .
Ie: ($&@&56) therefore 1956.
Not all Walthers I've handle have the year mark , don't know why?

I had a look, there are no markings there. I have emailed Walther in Germany, perhaps they will reply.
