Walther LP53

The Walther LP53 is a fine air pistol, but sadly, their rear sight is their weak point.

I have two of these fine pistols, both mint in boxes, but sadly, without the barrel weights. I bought the first one back in 2000 from the widow of a GI who bought it new in Germany in the late early 60s, and then forgot about it. It has brown grips. The second one has black grips and is two years newer. I wrote to Walther asking about spare parts - seals and so on, and was told to shoot it and enjoy it, but not to bother about spares, as there were positively none.
However, John Knibbs here in UK might have a few bits and Laurie Amatruda repaired my LP3 a couple of years back, so there IS some hope. John Knibbs Airguns spares is in Birmingham and has a web-site. Laurie lives just outside London and is a retired engineer, but I can give you his address if you want to try him.

Thanks for the leads gents! Looked at both sites and will try this side of the pond first. If doesn't pan out, I'll PM you tac.
Did see a forum thread were someone had produced a more modern piston head, which looks kinda interesting.
Mine came with a mildly beat fitted case (blue outside and burgandy velvet inside). The pistol has seen some use but looks pretty tight, brown grips.
looking forward to getting it aimable!

One more possible option.
According to posts on some of the UK based airgun forums, Protek Supplies has just recently received a sizable stock of Walther parts for the LP53, LP2. and LP3 pistols.
Nothing on Protek's website at present, but an e-mail inquiry couldn't hurt.

Thousands of parts for various Walther rifle and pistols. At this time we have listings by Walther Part numbers. If a certain part is requested by the part number we can say if we have it or not and take it from there, we have about 15 parts for the Lp53- trigger parts, sight screws, grip screws etc. , a lot more for LP2, LP3. CP1. LGR rifle and all later target pistols and rifles. Regards, Protek Supplieas
