Walther Match single shot rifles?

Levi
I am assuming that you are refering to the older generation action type,
approximately 70's,80's era. All of these I have seen are a medium gloss
bluing. Not as deep a gloss as the Anschutz series. They all used the same action type, single shot large body bolt with single extractor. They were offered in Metallic silhouette, Running boar, Standard rifle witth a deep fore
end ahead of the trigger guard and the GX-1 or KKMatch which was the
3-P model with anatomical aids. There was one departure in action types,
it was called a Loc-Bloc action . It was heavy aluminum with a steel falling
block and short side lever offered with a mechanical or electronic trigger.
This was offered in standard rifle configuration for a very short time,
sort of a trial limited production. The electronic trigger was not favoured
because it became contaminated from careless cleaning and excessive solvent use which resulted in incosistent operation.
Both Lannie Bassham,USA(76 Olympics) and Malcolm Cooper(84,88 Olympics)
won Gold with Walther GX-1s or KKmatch in 3-P
Are you contemplating a purchase or fishing for info?
Just a point to consider, the single extractor is a weakness and the firing pin
and springs are also a weakness. The barrels are superb and any of the match
rifles are as consistent as anything currently in production.

Thanks man, was looking at one, the fella took the pics with a flash, and it was very hard to determine condition, it was the UIT Match model. I may still go after it, he said it was 95% , but I think it may have been less. Had all the extras, that sting of weights on a rod, the tgt peeps, it was all there, for $750 , not bad if the bore is nice eh.

That would be a good buy if the rifle is in as good shape as the vendor
suggests. I have one that is still in the box. The rifle has been test fired
only. About 50 rounds. It is complete. Purchased new from Ray McDougall
when he was the importer. It has a horizontally split fore end to allow a very
low prone position and adjustable iris sight and clear apertures for the globe
front sight. Test target is about 1/4" and booklets and paperwork. I would ask at least $2000 for mine.

Andrew
