Walther MPL Submachine Gun

never really caught on- could be b/c the UZI was available and a superior gun- on top of that FRANCHI made an identical gun- it's kind of a chevy/Pontiac thing except for the branding- I had the opportunity to acquire the franchi and passed on it for the uzi

lots of people figure that b/c the mag sticks out, that's where your supporting hand goes- then they fire a burst or single shot, and the gun "jams" or misfeeds- and it's the gun's fault- turns out when you're holding the mag like that you're exerting backwards pressure on the mag and the nose can't do it's job properly and feed the round onto the feed ramp- and we have that picture of the French marquis holding a sten to blame for it

There were two kinds, military, which were safe and full. They did a small run for the German Border Police which
were, safe, semi and full. I think most of the Canadian guns are these.

I agree its a very good SMG , as to why only a few , its like all things , it not only has to be good , But it has to be timed right , you may find it was too late for most Nato Armies that wanted a 9mm SMG , therefore missed the wave , then it was Assault rifles & not open bolt SMGs .
