The softshell holster was adopted by the German Army in 1944.
In 1943 a few manufacturers produced them.
They are more easily identified because of the upward closing strap.
In 1944 the closing strap on the softshell holsters was 'mostly' downward.
The magazine for an ac42 would typically have one e/359 spine marking...'possibly two' that may have been in inventory from the ac41 production or early ac42s.
Early ac42s had serial numbered magazines, this was not the case for a 'k' block ac42.
