Walther P1 Not Grouping

Not grouping well at 25yds. Have tried UMC 115gr, UMC 147gr, Blazer 115gr and Military Ball. Shoots 2' low and 6" left, with a group size of +1.5'. Am benching and have had others bench it as well.

Any suggestions?

Check muzzle crown for damage. Rifling land wear creating a funnel shape right near the crown? Clean barrel with both lead and copper solvents to ensure no buildup? Check for secure barrel mounting or lockup to frame? Cracks in the frame that may be allowing it to flex when shot?

1.5' feet.. not inches. Kind of exagerating the definition of a group.

Ok, I cleaned it thorougly and gave it a real close inspection. I don't see anything out of the ordinary. Bore looks good, crown looks OK, no visible frame cracks.

What else to try?
 
How many rounds have you shot from it so far?

If it's new to you and has not seen any shooting since it came from a rebuild or was in storage for it's entire life until now then the barrel may well be brand new. I've had some of my own brand new guns take anywhere from 2 to 3 magazines to break in and tighten up to one that took roughly 150 to 200 rounds before it tightened up. I was just about ready to give up on that one when BAM! It suddenly tightened up and shot as good as the other matching pistol. Even my beloved Shadow took 4 or 5 magazines before it suddenly started grouping nicely. I'd say that it was me but I was shooting other guns at the time just fine.

So if your P1 may have a new barrel don't give up on it yet. Clean and LIGHTLY lube the barrel consistent with a regular cleaning every 50 rounds and keep shooting. If it doesn't tighten up after 200 to 300 rounds then something else is at play here.
 
To give you a reference point.
On 19 May 1942, SIG tested five contemporaneous service handguns for accuracy in preparation for the development of their candidate for the next Swiss service sidearm, eventually adopted as the Pistole 49 and designated commercially as the P210. This is what they got in 8 shots fired at 50 meters:

* Walther P38: 12.0cm from rest/14.5 cm offhand
* Radom ViS35: 18.5cm from rest/17.0 cm offhand
* Colt M1911: 30.0cm from rest/42.0 cm offhand
* 9mm Luger 06/29: 5.5cm from rest/11.5 cm offhand
* 7.65 Luger 06/29: 5.8cm from rest/9.0 cm offhand

The test Colt was a 1919 commercial Government Model, SN C113936.
And that P38 Walther was probably well made test piece. P1 can't be anywhere near that.

Not more than 50 rnds. I'll keep shooting her for a box or two more and see what happens.

One thing I did notice while cleaning it was that the wire bore brush does not fit as snug as my other 9mms? A worn out bbl?
