Walther P1 Trigger Improvment?

Purchased one of those unissued P1s and now I remember why I got rid of the first P1 I purchased!

The trigger is horrible. My TT33 shines over this thing. I have 1911, M&P, BHP, CZ, S&W to compare with....

So, what can be done with a P1, trigger wise?

Trigger as it sits in the frame is just a pivot pin, then it has a transfer bar that engages the transfer cam which in turn engage the hammer at the back of the frame. Only thing that you can do really is just take apart all components, clean and may be polish contact points. This will improve the feel of the trigger a bit. Lube everything as lube helps with moving parts. Start shooting it, more you shoot it better it will perform. Watch your face as the brass lands right between the eyes due to left side ejection. Shooting it onehanded helps a bit with this issue which is one of the quirks of p38/p1 design.
Otherwise its Walther, it can't get any better than this.

I know that my own P38 only gets shot once or twice a year for giggles, as the trigger is a heavy mushy mess.

I avoid the Beretta 92 because I wasn't impressed with that Walther descendant either

My new BHP was a horror show as well, however, and is still pretty heavy with an undetectable reset. FNH should be ashamed to put out a $1000+ single action pistol with an 11-13 pound trigger pull
