I've had my eye on a Walther P22 for a while now. I went to my local gun shop (Al Simmons) on the weekend to handle one and they said they don't carry them because there are too many problems with them. Are they that bad? I still want one.

Two things :yingyang: - they tend to be selective about ammunition (but then again :D , most .22 LR pistols are... - and that's actually a real reason why the .25 ACP was utilized in so many pistols  ) , and the grips aren't for everyone :( , size-wise.....

I have had mine for 5+ years or whenever they first hit the market here. Put countless rounds through it. Slide ended up cracking a couple years ago. Was replace under warranty with little hassle. It can be picky about ammo and the grips are on the small side but it still a fun plinker. Some of the mags have issues with the springs but I think the new ones don't have that problem. I took that silly fake compensater of the front, look a little weird with the barrel sticking out, might get it cut down one day.

If it fits in your hands and you like the look of it go for it.
