Walther PPQ NAVY

Got mine on Fri. but I haven't had a chance to get to the range yet. Fit and finish is excellent and it is very "P30esque". I did notice that the slide lock levers seem to fit tighter to the frame which sometimes gave me problems using a thumbs forward grip on the P30.
The trigger is amazing with a very short stroke and a very short reset just like it has been described in all the reviews. I wont be able to get to the range till mid-week but I'm really anxious to try it out. Now I just need to find a source for some more mag's.

Shot mine Weds :)

Pros
-Shoots great
-Mag changes are smooth and I dont have to break my grip
-Great German quality
-AWESOME trigger

Cons
-grip is small for my huge hands :(
-Snappy to shoot

-AWESOME trigger that I have to get used to coming off the P220 platform

P99 with face lift
Not knocking it just saying the p99
And the PPQ have a lot of great things in common and the EE was pretty hard on the resale of the p99s people asked 8-900 but they never sold unless posted for 600-700 $

shot mine on the weekend. at 15 yards, I have never shot such a small group. first thing I noticed was the size of the grip......could be too small for some people, changing the backstrap would not fix that. it's really the length. For me, it fits but barely.
the trigger is awesome, it just does not give you a chance to flinch...the reset thing, who really cares, the gun is light, so you'll have to take your time to aim. is it snappy ? sure it is....just like the P99 I used to own.
the only thing that i hate, is the stupid long barrel, it drives me nuts....really. I wish I knew where I could buy a P99 barrel. There was a thread about the barrel thing but it just died with no further info.

P99 always was a very accurate polymer gun, at one time I had 4 but foolishly sold them to get a more 'compact' HK since we're stuck at 10 rounds. In hindsight, I shot the best...similar group to picture above with the P99 when compared to HK P2000, Glocks. P30 or USP with custom trigger comes close to P99 accuracy but less consistent in my hands. P99 trigger is super crisp with very short reset.

I thought about PPQ but it actually has a heavier trigger (5.5lbs) vs. (4.5) for the single action pull on P99. Plus the long barrel on the PPQ was a turn off for my tastes.

How about some PPQ mags people?! Late model P99AS mags will do; who's got them?d:h:

The Magnum Research (MR9 Eagle Fast Action Model#MAGAF910) work great. They are made by Mecgar and are the same mag's that come with the PPQ except that they have a shiny finish instead of the flat finish that are on the ones that came with the pistol.
They were $31.99 at Midway USA but I had to go to the States to pick them up. Even in the US the Walther branded 10 round mags are around 60 bucks.
