Walther PPX broken slide stop.

One if my Walther’s had a slide stop breakage yesterday.
Will north sylva take it for repair ?
How long to get this part ?
Mmmmm

How many shots do you have on your PPX? Did you use the slide stop lever as a slide release after re-loading a mag?
I have a PPX for a couple years so I'm quite interested in what happened and why.

Me too, I only have around 400 rounds through mine but love it, awesome trigger, where can we get spare parts!?

I had the PPQ Match slide stop break. Called North Sylva. Wouldn't send me the part. Covered under warranty. Took 8 weeks and I paid the shipping one way from BC.
The slide stop is probably the one weak spot on the pistol.
At least it was covered under warranty.

5000 rounds. I contacted Walther service, will call NS today.

Thanks, good to know. I have 1,300 through mine.
But did you ever use the slide stop lever as a slide release after re-loading? I'm curious because some people say that one should release a slide by racking it. Not necessarily that I believe it but just to be on a safe side. Also, what ammo did you shoot?

Mine broke at around I think 2000 rounds, had to send the gun in to get it replaced, I doubt I've put 100 round through it since I got it back. fwiw I always ran 124gr ammo and rarely used the slide stop to release the slide.

Thanks.
Interesting, that somehow supports the theory that using the slide stop lever for releasing a slide, weakens the lever. Ammo seems to be irrelevant, though.

Modified...

I wouldn't want to get banned...

I hate when people proclaim that it’s a slide stop not a slide release blah blah blah. In almost all of my pistol manuals it calls for use of the lever during reloading.

You hear the slide stop/release argument mostly from the Glock crowd. I suspect because the slide release is so small on the Glock. Bpb Vogel, who shoots a Glock, refers to it both ways and recommends its use to release the slide in one of his videos because it is faster.

Take Care

Bob
