I am pretty interested in a Glock 30 but its barrel is less then 4 inches, making it prohibited I believe. Is there any way to get one with an extended barrel?? What would be required, would I need a contact in another country to retro fit it and send it my way?
If any one could shed some light it would be most appreciated!!

Cheers

I don't know anything about the feasibility of simply buying a longer barrel. But I've sent guns to Barry Jensen at Bits of Pieces. He will manufacture a "restricted" barrel, register the gun properly and send it to you. There is a problem in that the seller can't sell it to you, and so has to be willing to send it to Jensen (presumably you'd pay all the costs involved) for repair. That way no transfer has to be completed until Bits of Pieces has re-registered it. At that point the transfer to you can take place. It's kind of cumbersome, but it's a way to make a "prohibited" gun legal for "restricted" license holders.

I don't think that would work Barry does great work but it is illegal for a prohib firearm to cross the border...

The barrel change has to happen out of country.

Don't forget to allow for the 12month wait time ;)
