Want to but a 22 semi.Lr.

Or try a Browning Buckmark.

If you can, handle as many different .22 lr pistols as you can....buy the one which fits your grip/hand best.

If you have small hands, the Armco M93 would be a great deal. Sometimes you'll be able to find an MCM/Margolin/Vostok target pistol for pretty cheap, these are great pistols and often overlooked.
Seriously, tho' the Ruger Mk2 is hard to beat. There are loads of aftermarket accessories if you are into tinkering.

True, the Mk1 is as good a pistol as the Mk2, except it doesn't had the hold-open on an empty mag and the mags are 9 rounds instead of 10.
The first handgun I owned was an Mk1, and RST-6 to be exact. It had fixed sights, so that meant a little 'Kentucky windage" sometimes, but the groups were always excellent if I did my part.

I would go to a shop and handle a CZ75B and Ruger Standard Model or Government Model. If you like the feel of the CZ75B I would buy one in 9mm and a Kadet 22LR Conversion Unit; you will then be able to shoot 9mms and 22LRs from the same frame. Yes, I like to shoot my CZ75B using the Kadet Conversion Unit that much. Regards, Richard:D
