Want to buy Benelli

i hunt everything, and am still wondering why people in canada want semi shotguns.... i guarantee you go goose hunting or duck hunting, and ill pump and shoot just as fast or faster than you can shoot off a semi. it changes everything in the usa when you can do tube extensions and shoot lead at waterfowl, but when your window is as short as it is with non-toxic shot, and mag restrictions, i don't see the point in spending the money on a semi thats way more likely to freeze up and have malfunctions in comparison to a pump

Its his money and can do whatever he wants. It doesn't matter if you hunt with a pump or semi the main thing is your out there hunting.

Al Flaherty's has a Montefeltro but not in LH.

The last few years I've been hunting with a Mossy 500. This year I shot 100-ish birds with my SX3 (semi) in temperatures from +20 to well below zero. Bush, swamp, lake, field. No issues with a semi. "Pumps just as fast and more reliable than semi's" is the oldest argument in the book. And it's completely untrue. If you like pumps and they work for you, go for it! Some of us are worse shots and have more money for shells.

OP, any reason you want a Montefeltro in particular? They seem pretty hard to get. Cabela's carries Lefty SBE2's though.

Are you sure they can shoot lead at waterfowl in the U.S. ?

so being 27 makes me an "old fart"....
"very funny farva" *thumbs up
if you are shooting into a flock of geese/ducks and aren't aiming get your semi, if you're aiming for specific birds, wing and headshots, pump is more than fast enough, save yourself a grand and buy a supernova, then you can still claim to be in the benelli fanboy club and have a more reliable shotgun for Canadian conditions.

some states can use lead, yes.

He may not of heard of the North American migratory bird act . as they are limited to 3 shells in most cases just as we are .

in most cases but not all, i live in the migratory path and run into the yanks with semis and two speed loaders a piece, three or four guys putting out nearly 50 rounds in less than a minute, because they don't bother to read our legislation. you broke apart your own argument when you said in most cases.

FACT some states allow lead for waterfowl and migratory game birds

The Snow Goose Conservation Order allows for magazine extensions in the US, I have not heard of any exceptions for lead. I guess that does not stop people from using it.

As far as pump vs. auto loader. I own a few of both, but will take the auto's every time. The reliability of a well maintained auto is close enough to the reliability of a pump that the advantages of the auto make the choice simple.

I am still wondering why people feel the need to jump into someones thread and spew their own beliefs, really dumb ones at that and then try to back it up with BS statements!!! The only time you can use more than 3 rds for waterfowl is in the spring snow goose "cull". Please tell me and post up some proof where you can use lead in the US............ya thought so..........keep talking out of your azz..................

Target acquisition is soooo much quicker with a semi than with a pump and yes I am speaking from experience (I've been hunting almost as long as you have been alive).........owned several pumps and several semi's.............you might be able to shoot just as quick with your pump but you are not as accurate, your just trying to keep up to the guy with the semi beside you who is actually still aiming!! One of these days you will learn to shoot as well as you can spew crap............

True that

http://www.leadfreehunting.com/state-regulations/

only waterfowl production area's and refuges are protected by the US federal government as far as no lead. states have their option of regulation beyond that, they are posted areas,
heres your link to the map

1duckslayer, how about you do your research.
also, on the topic of the semi's shooters aiming, yes a shooter, who is firing 3 rounds, is definitely going to aim those 3. when you shoot 10 or 12 in the same time that someone shoots 3, you think that those shots are aimed? give your head a shake, that comment was pointed directly at the americans, who i see every year.

also if you delve even further into regulation, snow geese are barely protected at all by waterfowl regulation because it has been deemed that the flocks are getting too large, and they are literally destroying their own habitats. magazine restrictions are completely lifted in most states that do require them for every other waterfowl bird.
