Well, I took my black badge back in 2008 and did little after that. Shot a few matches including the Provincials in 2008. Really wanting to get back into it this summer. Kids are older, money is better and life is grand.

I know I have to redux my BB. Just curious if I have to redux the full course or a refresher if that exists.

ALso looking to get a CZ SP01 SHadow again. Also considering a Tanfoglio Stock II or III

Are the Tanfoglio's that much better than The CZ.

I had a SHADOW before when I shot.

Thanks all

Maybe I'll see you - I'm in Ontario. I want to start, so I'll be looking to take my BB this summer. I have a Smith M&P9. I'm interested in 3-gun. I'd like to come out and watch. Hopefully they have a Noob-class!

I did stop paying for my IPSC dues. Mainly because I never received anything from them. Even after shooting my qualifier. Never got my BB pin or renewal notices or any info from them ever. I did see my name online when results where posted however I have never received any mail from IPSC at anytime, other than a slip to take to my qualifier after my BB course.

And did you mail that blue card in to the BB coordinator?

Well, you actually get a lot for your dues. Most (possibly all) sections maintain a website with a members forum. This is the place to ask questions, get answers, find out information and retrieve important documents (like renewal forms). There are RO programs that are often run at no cost to the participants, and there are team programs to encourage excellence, and don't forget insurance. You normally receive some coverage through your affiliation with IPSC for injuries suffered while on the range at IPSC events. Just because we don't necessarily see a benefit to membership in terms of material items, doesn't mean that the organizations don't provide something for you.

As for not receiving a mailout, consider the cost of postage with a large membership base. It can get very pricey. Sections are doing everything they can to keep your costs down, which includes moving to electronic formats for documents. Sometimes we need to be a little pro-active and go looking for things that we need/want.

I have no problem with IPSC, Ontario. 100% my fault that I didn't renew my dues. Just had too little kids running around and getting a career on the way all at once was just a little too much too juggle. Just stating I thought it was strange that I never recieved anything from them. I probably should have contacted someone but obviously at the time it wasn"t a priority.

What part of Ontario are you in and what club .. The process is quite simple. Get ahold of the black badge co-ordinator on the web page and he can fill you in. At the very least you may have to take an assement session with an instructor to see where your skills are at this time. Included in that would be writing the current exam to get you caught up on the current rules.
