Hey all. I'm looking to get into some shooting sports. I know of the IPSC (hope I got it right) which I don't know much about, and that's it. I've seen some clips of people in events but dont know what they're doing or how the scoring or anything works. I'm open to all types of shooting games but the more physical activity the better. Are there any good links or sites you guys could reffer me to to get more info?

Thanks, and sorry for being newb.

Hey Greg.........wanna see IPSC!

Come out to the club next weekend ( may 26 and 27) we are hosting a 3 gun match.

All the running and gunning you can imagine.

If you have your restricted FAC, you are good to go for attending a Black Badge/ IPSC course. All you need is a DA/SA, DAO type 9mm, a holster & mag pouches, and some ammo.

Greg,

There is IPSC, Canadain Defensive Pistol Association, International Defensive Pistol Association (from what I can tell CDPA & IDPA are the same thing, but for some reason fall under different umbrellas), Service Rifle, a few accurized rifle competitions and so on. Whatever you pick, be wary! Your wallet is about to loose some weight. Have fun!
:)

The only Action Sport that is currently going at EESA is IPSC.

You can shoot PPC at Crumlin I believe on occasion.

There is IDPA style shooting out towards Chatham and Sarnia.

That really helps. Looks like I better brush up on and do my homework for this IPSC.

Just go watch a match at East Elgin... that'll be all the homework you'll need... Once u see it Live and in person you'll be hooked...

I remember first match I have ever seen. It was Level I in Barrie. Nothing really, but it planted the seed and Ken, what a nice man, great promoter of the sport. I like the idea of IPSC, where no mather what class you shoot you still able to compete at any level.

One thing I will change, is introducing IPSC league in Ontario. We have around 1000 shooters in Ontario and for example guys can make teams and compete against each other especially in slow winter months.
For example, draw or select one shooter from each class, starting with D, up to A.
Just the thought.

Great sport and great people.
