Want to nickel or chrome finish a Hk P7

Live in Vancouver and want to get my HK P7 refinished in Chrome or Nickel. Any idea if there are any outfits that can do this for me in British Columbia?

The difference is very small, and it's not like we can carry them so it would be an academic difference to boot. Corosion resistance is about the same, chrome may be a bit better.....go with the look you prefer. I like the matte finish of electoless nickel myself, shiny chrome looks like a pimp gun:rolleyes:

Electroplated nickel is a very weak finish and will start peeling after the first range trip. Electroless nickel is better but still not as hard as chrome.

Not if it is done right, just very few people do. The surface prep is very intensive, and a substrate of brass needs to be plated on first for the nickel to adhere to. Otherwise it will peel. I had a S&W 586 that had had a nickel plate job done by the S&W performance center and it was shiny, and tuff as all get out, never peeled in years.

It may be different with revolvers, but a friend of mine had factory nickel finish on his CZ-75 and it started peeling after the slide was racked a couple of times.
