Want to piece together a German/Nazi sniper rifle(or close to)

Hey everybody, not sure if this is the correct area so mods please move it if need to.
I've been wanting to put together a few WWII era marksman/sniper rifles and I think I am in the right section to do so.

First rifle I'd like to put together is a WWII German 'sniper' rifle. I've found a few Nazi scopes on ebay but not sure what scope goes to what rifle.
Has anybody put something together like this from the German side? I've searched but didn't find many threads on this.

Do your research, decide first how accurate or authentic a version you want, then go from there. The most expensive parts likely will be the mounts and optics. Wheather original or repro, both can be had for a price. Ebay is a good source for those items. The rifle itself will be the cheapest part of the package.

Just a ruff price guesstimate.. Rifle $400, Repro mounts $200-$400, orignals $500 plus.. Optics, repro $300-$500, orignal $900 plus..

Oh yeah and I did not factor in any gun smith work,, ie drill and tap etc...
 
Thank you guys, I'm going to look into those books and keep researching to find out what I want exactly.

Wouldn't mind something pretty accurate and as authentic as my $$$$ can get me.

There are some great turret mounts in the EE that would be a great start to a K98 sniper project, they are some of the best repro's around out of Austria. Great seller too!

Here are a couple of repros I have, as close as I could get anyway. Both have original scopes, repro mount on the turret rifle, repro base adaptor on the Zf41 rifle.

Mauser Sniper

I saw an original Mauser K98 on Joe Salters sight a few months ago, it was mint. It sold for $11,900 US. He had it listed for about two weeks.
Your Mausers are great, I really like your turrent model. If one can't afford the price of an original why not build a duplicate. Are there any scopes on the market that look like the originals? I know there are repro mounts but haven't seen any scopes.
